Internship Creative Strategist Intern (Conversion to Full-Time | Path to Creative Director)
This is not a typical intern role. We are looking for someone who thinks in stories, moves fast, and wants to own creative work, not just execute it.
You will work directly with the founder of Ultimate Fitness Lab to shape how one of Johor Bahru's most ambitious fitness brands shows up online. From strategy to edit to publish, you will be involved at every stage.
This role is remote, but it is high-involvement. We run in sprints. We move quickly. And we are looking for someone who treats this like a launchpad, not a line on their CV.
What you will do:
— Sit in with the founder for pre-production strategy sessions — planning Reels, content angles, hooks, and campaign concepts before a single frame is shot
— Advise on shot direction, scripting, and on-camera delivery to maximise content performance
— Edit short-form videos and Reels for Instagram and Meta Ads — fast-paced, scroll-stopping, platform-native
— Design static creatives — carousels, ad visuals, story graphics — that are on-brand and conversion-focused
— Help build and maintain a content calendar that keeps UFL showing up consistently and strategically
— Analyse what is working and bring data-informed ideas into every strategy session
What this role becomes:
If you are the right person, this internship converts to a full-time Creative Strategist role. From there, as UFL scales its studio network across Southeast Asia, the trajectory is clear — Creative Director, owning the entire visual and content identity of a regional brand.
You are a fit if:
— You are currently studying or have recently graduated in Design, Communications, Marketing, Media, or a related field
— You can edit short-form video confidently — CapCut, Premiere Pro, or anything that gets the job done at a high standard
— You have a good eye for design and can work in Canva or Figma for static creatives
— You understand what makes content stop the scroll — you watch Reels and think about why they work
— You are comfortable sharing opinions in a strategy session, not just taking instructions
— You are self-directed and reliable in a remote setup — you do not need to be managed to get things done
Bonus if you have:
— A portfolio of video edits, social content, or ad creatives (even personal projects count)
— Experience running or growing a social media account
— Any understanding of Meta Ads or paid social performance
